Divorce Support Roundtable

Leisa MacIntosh LL.B, Q.Med.

Leisa MacIntosh offers her clients healthier and more efficent ways to solve their family issues.  After spending more than a decade in the trenches of Family Court, Leisa believes that familes should consider options such as mediation and collaborative practice before going to court.

Many of Leisa’s clients are business owners and successful professionals who want to avoid the high emotional and financial costs associated with litigation.  She also handles complex files where parents want to ensure that they develop parenting plans that focus on their children’s needs and help maintain a respectful parenting relationship.

When court is necessary, Leisa offers extensive experience in pyschological and children's issues, developed through her many years of experience as as legal counsel for the Children’s Aid Society of Pictou County.

Leisa has a well established network of professionals to support clients in parenting, child issues and financial planning.  She is active in her legal community, helping to grow the mediation and collaborative practice movement.  In her free time, you are likely to find her on the sidelines of a soccer game with her husband and three children.

Before obtaining her law degree in 2000 from University of New Brunswick, Leisa also spent a semester studying law in Australia, where she became inspired to carry forward progressive approaches to family law.  She did her undergraduate studies at the University of King’s College in Halifax and also studied at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France.

As a third generation MacIntosh lawyer at Mac, Mac & Mac, Leisa is proud to carry on the tradition of quality service for clients.
